View Full Version : HELP!! stainless steel manifold polishing??

i know i already posted this and noone replied,, but i thought maybe if i changed it and made it more clear people might understand better what im asking.

i have a Stainless Steel exhaust manifold,, and im wondering what is the best safest stuff to use to polish the thing.. surely theres ppl out there who polish up their manifolds or extractors?? thanks

just use autosol

then after running the car for about an hour it will start to discolour again
waste of time

What doriae86 said. Unless it's fucking filthy it's pretty pointless unless you aren't going to be driving it for a while.

If you must do this use phosphoric acid to remove the browning first

ahh yes. will do that. had trouble removing all of the browning today with the autosol. haha thx..

if you can get hold of a diegrinder, goto bunnings into the tool shop theres buffing stuff there, small buff wheels, white cloth.. get that and some green wax .. will work a treat.. i polished stainless for a coupla years to a mirror finish and we used that

this if u have a barrel grinder, the small die grinder buffs are in the same packaging

i agree with Deegan as that is what i used to polish my whole engine bay, works a treat.
