Im currently waiting for my pre-approval of modifications application to be seen and responded to (four weeks before it will be looked at and then two more for a response).

After speaking to one of the guys at the murray st tech office where they process these apps' he told me they were down to four guys to process all off the states mod applications.

In a state where polys bang on continually about road safety and the dangers of modified cars it good to see they have taken a realistic approach by hoping to fine/legislate people out of a legitimate hobby people rather than spend a small portion of our states funds to employ more staff to encourage the large number of people still seeking to modify their cars to do it in a responsible fashion.

I got pre approval for turboing my v6 commodore, they were fine with it but said it needed an emissions test. As far as i know orbital are the only ones in WA that will do it, but they basically told me they didnt want to know about it and said it would probably be over $5000. Seems stupid to make a rule where this test needs to be done and then have no place that will willingly do it to support it. DPI told me at the time ( late 2005) that they were trialling the new australia wide vehicle code. Makes great sense in NSW where the test is readily available

I was talking to my engineer about turboing my commy with the 1uz,he said Kostecki were going to do this, therefore able to tune at the same time if not meeting required emissions.Bring ya spare change purse for them though.
