Teenager to be flogged and jailed for attempting sex with camel

A teenage boy has been sentenced to six months in jail and 240 lashes for trying to have sex with a camel in Saudi Arabia.

Arab News reports that the 17-year-old Nigerian youth was sentenced by a court in Tabuk.

It quoted a judge, Dr Eisa Abdullah Al-Ghaith, who said the boy had been found guilty of "having tried to have sexual relations with a camel."

The camel's owner said the young Nigerian "got into his farm and had sex" with the dromedary but was caught by police.

Ghaith said the lashes would be administered in six installments of 40 lashes each with an interval of seven days.
