I run hookworms for the street and minions for trails on the Faith 2. The hookworms im let to believe have the same casing as the dh tyres. I agree with Mr_Mike that the STP zero is definitely well specced for its price which is why I own one. The STP is also quite a capable machine at the goat farm. I shall attempt to get pics of both bikes sometime soon.
Hako thats one well specced stp, how do you find the marzocchi forks?

Im well impressed with the DJ1s, took me a while to get the rebound right but now they are great, probly the only thing on the bike i'm 100% happy with.
Nice bikes you have there, what shock is on the Faith? Fox dhx4.0?
what do you think of it ? and what are the minions like? i plan on running them on the Morewood, not sure whether to go F&R or 2xF tho.
I'm hoping to start going to the goatfarm when the Morewood is built, ive only been once and that was 10 years ago haha.

fuck goat farm, Mt Gunjin is the shit!!! heaps of Northshore style wooden jumps and raised single track walkways. Last i heard there was a new section with seesaws and shit.
dtcng
09-04-2007, 02:33 PM
Hako , on the faith the rear shock is a fox dhx 3, ultimately i would love a dhx4 or 5 but the 3 does the job nicely. Minions are brilliant, i run the minion f on the rear and it sticks hard into the berms at the goat farm. Mt gunjin is good for the more advanced but the goatfarm is good for those that are getting in the sport or just a quick blast during the day

josh i'd get rid of the boxxer triples on a hardtail and chuck some Pikes or summin on
nice work josh
yeah like mike said stps and triples dont go that well together
saying that there are a few around, see how you go
mr_mike
15-04-2007, 05:57 PM
the main problem with runnin triples on a hard tail is it changes where the main stress points r on the frame meanin the frame around the headtube tends to break. Have seen it happen a few times on Farkin.net forums.
RGVFAST
15-04-2007, 05:58 PM
haha check how high the front end sits with the boxxers
street or jump bike 4 inches is plenty of travel
prolly able to swap them for some nice street forks and cash ur way
must be super hard to lift the rear wheel with that travel and altered geometry

even 4" is to big for a jump/street bike ross.
Either 2-3" or solid forks seems to b the top choice.
nah i think 100mm is the fork of choice these days especially for dj
no point going 2 or 3" for park work, might as well have rigids
my 100mm forks u can wind compression right down if need be
mitcho
15-04-2007, 06:29 PM
nah just run rigids. suspension is only for hardcore downhill style. in Saying that i ran 100mm DJ 1's for a while on my DMR and they were nice with a stiff spring in them. But no good for park or tight trails.
and id watch out for that headtube on that STP, if that thing is taken for a beating your going to eat the bars real bad.
WRCjosh
16-04-2007, 10:13 AM
yeah i know what you mean, only thing is these are the only shocks available to me at this time, im well aware their more then overkill!!!

Ok i went down the bike shop and he tells me there's not really any upgrades for my dinosaur RALEIGH, there's like one aftermarket fork that would fit it, thats only got about 50mm of travel, and all up with bits to fit it and fitting etc be just under $300. So the AVANTI Escape they had there for $499 (currently on special for $399) is looking much more enticing.
Thanks for the offer evo_zero but i think i'm needing something with more gearing for the all-round riding up n down in the hills that i had in mind. Just for interests sake how much travel are those forks?
