imo redline is the shiz nit and if you like your car you will give it to her. Its a few bucks more but its worth its weight in gold

redline is very pricey and comes in imperial sizes so you always ending up having to buy twice as much as you need (for metric cars) just to get that little bit extra to finish the oil change. not worth the cost over a good synthetic/semi synthetic in my opinion....

I really like shell synth for box and diff. Not had any issues to date.

What sort of state are the diff and box in?
Ive found Penrite semi synth in my V8's is good as it stands up to the massive heat the old girls pump out. I use Shell or Mobil in my nissans. Ive found very little diffenece in the look of the components after different oils (might be a different story if you mic em up though) but the Mobil seems to leek more even at the same weight as the Shell (mabey it become more viscous with heat than some other oils?).
stick some penrite shelsley medium in there, should do nicely

We use Mobil full synthetic products and have no problem with them.
Always use a full synthetic in a turbo engine as it stops the oil burning inside the turbo bearing in a hot shutoff situation due to the fact that full synthetic will not burn and therefore carbon.
Full synthetic in the gearbox works in a good cond box but if it has crunchy syncros would suggest using Redline l/weight shockproof. Will have to be changed around 15-20,000 km as it loses it's effectiveness as a syncro masker after that.
Yes I know it tends to stuff up the syncros and hubs after prolonged use ( Tony Flood hates the stuff and so does Denver ) but if the syncro's are already crunchy then what does it matter. We call it gearbox rebuild in a bottle... :)

Hey Ken I had been told that the yellow Hyperdrive 180 was using castrol synth (engine) and getting better life span out of it... Obviously this was bull****???
