Muse injury
17/08/2004 4:47:00 PM
Muse’s year of highs and lows continues. The English group have cancelled their last three appearances on the Curiosa tour because Chris, their bass player, has injured his wrist in a fall. While he waits for tests to come back, there’s also no word yet how the upcoming Australian tour might be affected.
i will fuckin spew if i miss this again seeing as perth is first on the list

can't believe Chris played with a broken wrist :D top work
I was there, and i agree it was awesome. they are really good live!
suburban
11-09-2004, 12:39 PM
fuckin oath that was the best gig ive been to see forsure !!
as i expected, they are a top band live, so much energy and passion its unbelieveable !! i thought that was chris on the bass, haha wicked.
stockholm syndrome was awesome, i was hoping for muscle museum and definately citizen erased (my fav) and it was all delivered beyond my expectations. i knew they would drop something from the ceiling at the end and the confetti was cool, a muse signature
id love to see some of ya pics - send them to garyjamieson@homebuyers.com.au
if its not too much hassle could you lower the size as work might reject them if they are 2 big..
where were you btw, i was next to the bar on the right. being tall has advantages :)
JJJ have them playin live at the wireless - wed 14th - 8pm from their sydney show

feck... its been awhile
anyone heard the new album... not due out for another few weeks but it fell off the intarweb and onto my c drive...
opinions - not very fucking muse'y. No wild riffs or solo's, nothing like OOS or showbiz, no stockholm syndrome or piano ****... BUT the good songs (11 song cd, i rate 6) are fairly good...
just like they have moved into a diff genre of music.....
should have waited for the release before posting this... meh
oh yeh whole cd aint like the 'supermassiveblackhole' sound thats getting raped on the wirelesss.......

Gazza,
mate ive heard similar things, JJJ think they have gone a bit poppy
suburban
20-06-2006, 07:21 PM
yeh very much so man. aint what they used to be, but still ok if the stations dont thrash them and turn them into ****in pop ildols like coldplay etc lol
so emo

i like it!!
personal faves are starlight, and Knights of Cydonia.
Not as pure rock as they have been previously, but given that they spend most of their time in Europe, and have been spending a bit of time in Japan lately, its easy to see where the electropop influences are coming from.
sleazy...dirty...eurotrash...think NIN crossed with queen...i dont mind it at all. Especially considering the pre-release version i've got seems pretty poorly mixed, so hoping the cd sound quality will be a great deal better.
Looking forward to seeing their new material live - 2004 show was the best rock show i've been to. Never thought of them as a "rock band" til i saw that show - blew metallica and velvet revolver out of the water!

hmm.....not sure if its for me from your discription guys!
the new cd is good, not as good as showbiz, origin of symetry tho
Highlights for me are starlight, exo-politics, knights of cydonia.
they sorta sound like queen now?, lyricly....i dunno
Anyway, damn you for getting my hopes up, i thought they were coming back here in september!, then i saw the dates were 2004:(
suburban
27-06-2006, 05:01 PM
lol steam. Yeh exo has been floating around for ages under the name DES i think, or was it the other name *shrug*
OOS was the best CD i reckon.
starlight (ok, but reckon ill get bored of it soon)
SMBH - as above
map of the problematique - love it
assassin - love it
exo politics - cool
Knights of Cydonia - love it
one of those 50/50 cds. half ****, half good
edit - hopefully back in oz soooon

So apparently they're on the lineup for BDO this year, along with Tool, The Killers, and Jet.
Who's going to make the effort? I'm thinking it could be worth the $100+...
