both 2.5L's , both forced induction.... personally i'de go 1jz a stronger build and its easier to make power out of... but the RB has more parts availabilty and parts are cheaper bcuz of them being more common. anyone else got something 2 say?

im assuming you have a mark 3 supra that its goin into?
1jz is leagues above the rb25, more comparable to a 26 really, but the conversion will be a lot easier with a 1j as you can simply get the cross member and what not from a jza supra, this will make ur conversion cheaper
as for part costs and availability these days; Toyota - Nissan ~ Same

I remember Zoom had a similar thing to this a while ago, except they had RB26 Vs 1JZ, as they beleived they were more similar in performance than RB25 Vs 1JZ or RB26 Vs 2JZ.

Back when i first bought my stock soarer jzz30, vs mates stock r33 skyline gtst... No special gizmos to make them faster, just standard.

Blew his doors off no matter how hard he tried after many attempts.

This was my scenario.

car wise, id go a skyline over a soarer but motor wise the 1JZ is just a superior motor to the rb25. Keeping both motors internally stock and just wacking a big turbo on and winding the boost up, the 1J is always going to have a higher reliable hp...

Shane Chricton just went 10.1 at 135mph on an internally stock 1JZ.

Game over.

before going any further lets stop and think..............

why are u comparing these 2 motors!!!

dont know about the rest of u but these threads go nowhere and unless u are actually considereing doing something such as a engine conversion and u have narrowed the choice between these to motors (for some odd reason) then whats the point

i say lock thread!!!
