Police have seized a Holden utility and charged the 25 year old driver who allegedly created two holes in the bitumen and excessive smoke in Palmyra at the Carrington and Hammad Streets intersection on Wednesday morning.
Police conducting patrols in the Palmyra area spotted the Commodore ute around 2.00am allegedly performing a burnout by riding the brakes and spinning the wheels and causing heavy smoke. The police patrol vehicle with emergency lights activated pulled in behind the Holden and the driver failed to notice the officers due to the enormous smoke screen that had been generated.
Police turned on the emergency siren and pursued the Commodore for a short distance until the driver stopped. The officers allege the vehicle dug two holes in the road and caused seven metre long rubber skid marks through the intersection. The 25 year old St James man has been charged with reckless driving and driving under influence of alcohol and he was bailed to appear in the Fremantle Magistrate’s Court on 14 December 2006.
Wonder if he had the Trev arm hanging out? Must have been a reasonable effort to not see a cop car with flashing lights!! I love it - "Enormous Smoke Screen"
LOL!
