Haha, Dell you either love or you hate. I've heard people having tragic stories with Dell, then there are others that have had no problems. I never had anything Dell, but I'd rather buy something else where I do not have a 50% chance of me hating it :\

Both the Dell and Acers we have rolled through have had hi rate of pixel failures.

For your cheap 19" lcd option get a Samsung. Make sure it has dead pixel guarentee.

For a qual 19" LCD get a Viewsonic with 2ms responce.

whats the conditions of the dead pixel guarentee on the samsumg? is it still like has to have a certain number of them within a certain distance of each other?

and do the viewsonics have the same guarentee?

We been getting 14 day zero dead pixel warranty on the Samsungs. Usually find if it doesn't show up in 14 days, its going to be a good moniter. The 2ms viesonics do have the same zero dead pixel policy but I don't think the cheaper Viewsonics do.

Just make sure where ever you buy it from they tell you the terms cos it can very from place to place

Anyone thought of buying a big ass LCD TV and using one of them for a screen? (OR anyone actually doing that?)

I just ordered this baby last week:

http://www.samsung.com/au/products/tv/lcdtv/la46f71b.asp

Should arrive hopefully before christmas. 46" True High Definition LCD (as in 1920 x 1080 resolution, not the piss weak 1300 by something they try to pass on as HD in the stores nowadays, farken bullsh|t).

Will probably use it as a computer screen when gf not watching TV! Will see how it goes heheh.

And no, I'm not paying 6.5K for it, I know a guy in the wholesale business who owes me favours, will get it at cost being slightly over 4K :)
