only problem with this is all the bull**** requirements just to trash your car on some dirt. Fark that!

What, a fire extinguisher????
Other than that, it has to pass regular scruitineering! Have working seatbelts, brakes etc!

does that mean you require a CAMS lic OR a WASCC membership or do you require both?

Both, WASCC is a cams affiliated club
FranZ

Well, kind of both - for your cams license to be valid, you need to be a member of a CAMS affiliated car club. WASCC is one, AFARCC is another and a cheaper option if you're not planning to do tuning days at Barbagallo raceway.

What i meant is to even compete your gonna need to be apart of a cams affiliated club = $$$, then buy a cams license = $$$, then pay entry fee = $$$
Compared to say competeting at the drags =$40.

Its all part of insurance! Cams license is $90/year - cams affiliated car club can be as little as $12/year. Then entry fee to events.
Id gladly pay that to drive corners and actually be challenged rather than simply driving in a straight line! - note: only abuse me and say its not easy to drive down a drag strip if your car does sub 10's.

Nar we'll all abuse ya anyhow :P
Your evo 60ft was a bit slow, perhaps improving that could be a "challenge" for you ?

Could be a challenge - but any monkey can dial up 7000rpm and let the clutch out quickly - thats all I did!
1.79 60' on a stock clutch with street tyres running street pressures, I feel I've met the challenge and succeeded.

Plus you're not talking about actual competition like in dial-your-own where plenty of skills is required.
I'll leave it at that though. :)
Plus anyone can turn a steering wheel right? :shake:

How is plenty skill required for dial your own? You just keep repeating what you did the previous run to keep running the same time. Hell Ricey has no skills and nearly won DYO a few years back in his Sigma! hehe :p
Yes, anyone can turn a steering wheel - just like any monkey can drop a clutch and nail the throttle and then shift fairly quick - like I said we're talking +10sec 1/4 mile cars here - I understand and respect that its not easy to go faster. Fact in autox or any other disipline of motorsport you'll find that its not just nailing a throttle and heading down a straight relatively flat bit of road; its balancing the car using throttle, brakes and steering - you can't argue that DYO or general +10sec 1/4miles require more skill.
And I thought that I said to only abuse me if your car does sub 10's :p hehe
PS. Love you Ricey! hehe

Fast Friday next week - game on. If it is so easy you must be able to beat me right?
That said I did go out first round at the last one haha.
My point is that they require different skills, Franz. I appreciate the skills required to go fast around a circuit, and maybe you can appreciate the skills (which are not neccessarily so much driving as strategy based) in drag racing.

I would if you sponsor my Evo a new clutch! Saying that, I've run my cars and I know what they can do - I don't see the point hurting my car and not really testing much else time and time again especially without modifying anything! It just doesn't interest me that much.
Yes, I can appreciate the skills required - which is why I made point of the sub 10 comment. When talking strategy its not really testing driving ability or skill as you've pointed out so therefore I don't think rates much into this argument/discussion/topic!
