hmm, from my extensive mechanical experience i was not aware you can have a bov on a supercharged engine (i will probably soon be corrected..)

Cheers

Umm i think i spoke to that guy last night actually, haha. Didnt know he was selling. He came to my restaraunt and ordered Chinese and i asked if that was his Sil etc and we got talking. He said it was supercharged and i was like woah. He explained that he got it supercharged cheap through his mate and has a few other mods to support it and says it runs mid-high 13's with it. Didnt ask about the BOV but i did hear one as he drove it fairly hard as he left the shop. I was very surprised and wondered what the hell a BOV was doing on a supercharged engine. (im a supercharger n00b too so dont abuse me). He also said he converted it from CA, so it must mean thats the same guy. He never did mention that he was selling it at the time.

Its definatelly not a mistake though, it is supercharged. Seems like a fair price too, just for the fact that its a bit different.

There is another supercharged S13 in perth and thats the yellow speedworks one. You can run a BOV on a blow through supercharger setup where the throttle body is after the supercharger. In a suckthrough setup the s/c is after the throttle body ie. a 4agze.

with the superchargers that are like 1/2 a turbo(positive displacement?) running a BOV on them in pretty common. But with blowers that sit ontop of the engine its obviously allot harder or impossible.

the s13 is definately something different.

Yeah its a pretty cool and different setup, a big blower out of the bonnet would look psycho..

its a very good price for something different, pity i didnt have that kind of cash...

good on him though..

depends on the setup, the supercharged sprinters etc sounds pretty normal with a bit of a whine to them, but thats a root's type super charger..

the speedworks car which is aj's old black silvia used to sound pretty nuts with the first twin screw setups he ran, that ran a throttle body on the inlet of the super charger..

now days it runs a throttle body on the inlet manifold as per any other car, and a bypass valve on decel, around the track its insane souinding, imagine a ww2 air raid siren, and a nice whine on aceleration..
