Ive currently got intercooler pipes set up in my car atm, only thing is that they are Mig welded and not polished

Just wondering if ya'll have any recommendations on good places that would re-weld them with a Tig welder and then polish them?

cheers

*edit: forgot to add, places in Perth*

hey man theres plenty of good engineering shops in perth so I wont through my 2 cents worth in there, but if the pipes are already fully welded (and not just taked into position) and they need to cut em up and grind em down for weld prep again just ask them to try to keep as much length as they can so you dont end up with slightly tighter pipe work which might make em rub.

like KINGD says you will have to recut the welds and that will pretty much fruck the pipes in length. If you wanna do all the pipes polished you may have to grind the welds down with a flap disk on a grinder and polish them up. Otherewise new pipes to be made with alot more expense, sometimes you can reuse the old bends and straight so that may be a way of getting your job done too. Pm me if you want to know more.

I was thinkin about this... I reckon if your just doin it to improve the look of the pipe work you would be better of grinding down the mig weld with a flap disc then tiggin over the original weld. Thats safe, strong and will polish up and look the part with out you having to cut the pipe work.
