as far as i know cars using afm's dont like having vent to atmo bov's due to the afm being triked into thinking its using more air than it actualy is when the bov is opened. because the air is venting to atmo and not actualy goin through the motor can cause overfueling , flaming ect, i dont realy see how this could afect idol and car to stall but seeing as u just instaled it maybe the ecu is a bit confused
can somone confirm?

yeah thats right, need some a/f management to help it out, otherwise plumb it back or re-fit stock bov...

if u have an aftermarket bov no matter what, you have to raise the idle revs by about 2-3hundred which means if ur revs are 800 standard raise it to about a 1000 rpm and it should work fine.

Is this common in R33s, turbos, or all forced induction cars??

saying all that, i have a loud atmo venting bov on my r33 with stock ecu and not once have i adjusted idle or had it stall while driving, must be my quality, non leaking Turbosmart item :D
a vacume leak somewhere will cause this as well, :)

i get this in the s14.. when cruising, i slip it out of gear and into neutral. revs will drop to as low as 200 then spring back up to 1000 then idle @ 800. people say the bov is too loose, so i tightened it a bit.. got better i think, but now im stuck with flutter. ugh.. plumback time

If the spring tension is adjustable tighten it up as hard as you can. I have the same issue on my 200zr.
Alternatively plum it to vent back to the intake if possible.
