Howdy All,

Does anyone here have any ideas of what I can do to the Auto trannys in the Toyota Aristos (Lexus GS300) to hold a bit more power and also any info or insight into shift kits.

I am going to go a big single turbo on this when it lands, but i'm a bit concerned how the tranny will hold up.

Cheers All

Rob

rob, talk to saf, i remember he has a contact (maybe his dad) that runs an auto shop, plus he knows toymota's.
Nothing against MV, but handy to have stuff local.

These trans can definately hold the power if you're willing to pour a bit of cash into them (by a bit, I mean around 2k, which is cheap when you consider the price of just a new twin plate).

Shane Crichton with the 1ZJ Cressida is running an A340E box (similar to the A341E found in the Aristo and MarkII) and he's now done a 10.3 @ 140~ mph.
MV Autos did the build on that box.

Rob, if Saf does have any contact details for people who build toyo boxes locally, can you please post them in this thread.

i would def appreciate any info about getting these boxes modded locally, i have my aristo sitting on a warf in Japan (hopefuly, that is, unless my money has been spent on hookers).

does anyone know about how many kw the standard aristo box can handle before mods are advisable?

Volatile180, greennick, fit a tranny cooler first thing and flush with Toyota Type IV fluid while youre at it... the A341 is also the Soarer V8 box, will take a bit of power but they can run pretty hot so even with no engine mods you will be prolonging their life

What do you exchange exactly?
I have been thinking of a shift kit but not too sure what is involved with getting one/installed.

Is it just the autobox valve body that gets modified? So I would send them my one, they modify it and send it back?

Yep it's just the valve body that is modified.

If you call MV and order a shiftkit they have exchange ones ready to go, you pay for it and they will post it, you then post your old valve body back to them after you have fitted it.
